Request for SEND professional involvement

From September 2024 SEND has been removed from the Family Help process in Westmorland and Furness.

Agencies are no longer required to complete a Family Help referral to request professional involvement to support special educational needs, or for education, health and care needs assessment (EHCNA) requests.

All request and referral forms can be found on the Professionals Hub on the Local Offer.

When completed, all school and college requests for professional involvement should be submitted via the School Portal. If you are a non-Portal setting, then please return this form to: SEND.WAF@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk

All Early Years requests for professional involvement should be submitted to: LIS.Businesssupport@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk 

Request for education, health and care needs assessment

 Educational, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Resources for Schools is a website that has school and education setting request forms.

Requesting an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment is a website where you can find parent and carer / or young person with SEND referral information.

Requests for an Early Help Assessment for family support should be completed as usual.
