Pol-Ed - A positive force in education

Pol-Ed is a PSHE and Citizenship educational programme that provides schools with free lessons, assemblies and resources covering a range of topic areas.

All Pol-Ed lessons are focused on topics in which the police have credibility and expertise, and sit under one of 4 umbrella topic areas.

  1. Relationships
  2. Keeping Safe
  3. Understanding the Law
  4. Well-being

The Pol-Ed lessons and assemblies have been designed by PSHE specialists with content provided by West Yorkshire Police and partner forces’ subject experts to maximise impact and usability. Our materials cover a wide range of the PSHE Association’s Programme Of Study to address priority topics such as sexual violence and harassment, child-on-child abuse and the perception that young people have of the police.

Our secondary lessons have a flexible 20/40/60 minute delivery model to meet different curriculum approaches.

We incorporate a wide range of assessment opportunities so students can demonstrate their progress. The Pol-Ed curriculum is built around values, skills and attributes, not just knowledge.

Our website - pol-ed.co.uk - has easy access and functionality for all teachers in your setting with a reporting mechanism to highlight which lessons have been delivered.

Pol-Ed’s ultimate aim to help you #KeepChildrenSafe and work together to be #APositiveForceInEducation
